Reason Code 4808: Warning Bulletin File

This reason code is transitioning from the legacy code 4807. A cardholder claims the merchant didn't get authorization for said transaction.

The issuer couldn't verify the authorization approval was obtained when processing the transaction.

Merchants should:

• Always get authorization before they process a transaction.
• Terminate the sale if the card network declines the transaction.
• Train members to follow Mastercard practices of accepting card payments.
