Chargeback alerts and Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) are important tools for merchants. Using them wisely as part of an overall chargeback management strategy is key to maintaining a good reputation with card issuers. Alerts, RDR and chargeback automation have a significant impact on merchant bottom lines.
While we’ve been offering chargeback alerts and RDR for a while at Justt, we wanted to formally announce them and also explain how they fit into our chargeback automation solution as a whole.
Why should you use alerts and RDR?
With Justt’s Alerts feature, you can take proactive control of chargeback ratios, before they impact your bottom line.
Merchants are constantly being monitored by card issuers. If your chargeback or fraud rate gets too high, you are at risk of fines or even account closure.
Chargeback alerts and RDR allow you to take fast, proactive steps to keep chargeback ratios below limits set by card schemes. When an alert is used to resolve a dispute quickly, it won’t count toward your chargeback ratios.
Things are in flux at the moment with regards to alerts and RDR. VISA’s VAMP program is rolling out in April 2025 and becoming more strict in January 2026. Merchants will need to be more careful than ever to keep their ratios under control.
How do Justt’s Alerts and RDR work?
Just’s alerts feature is an easy way for merchants to manage their pre-dispute resolution strategy.
In Justt, you can easily view pending dispute alerts, powered by Verifi or Ethoca, in your dashboard. You’ll have between 24-72 hours to make a decision, before the alert turns into a chargeback.
Ready to go more automated? Use Verifi’s Rapid Dispute Management (RDR) to set rules to automatically issue refunds based on pre-set policies. However, it only covers Visa cases, and does not cover Mastercard. Ethoca alerts and Verifi CRDN cover both card schemes, and others too.
Alerts work better with Justt
One of the biggest challenges of using alerts is balancing your chargeback ratio with revenue recovery. Many merchants focus so much on keeping their chargeback ratio low that they hesitate to dispute invalid claims, leaving money on the table that is rightfully theirs.
This happens because chargeback data is often scattered across multiple systems, making it difficult to get a clear picture of what’s really going on. To make the most of alerts, you first need better visibility.
With this visibility, Justt helps you make smarter decisions about when to accept alerts and how to set the right Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) rules.
Chargeback prevention and management in one place
Justt ties alerts to chargebacks, so you have full traceability of decisions and outcomes. Whether you’re looking for your chargeback win-rate or anything else, every part of your dispute management system is in one, easy-to-find, place. No multiple logins, no Google docs to piece it all together, just peace of mind.
