Cause
The merchant:ย
Didn’t process the transaction within the specified timeframe, and the cardholder’s account is now closed.
Posted the transaction 180 days after the original transaction date.
Response
Cardholders and issuers have 90 days to file a dispute related to the claim against the merchant.
Merchants have 45 days to respond to the claim in dispute.
Steps to Prevention
Send the transactions to the issuer in seven days if you have an electronic record of the card information.
Submit transactions between different regions to the issuer within 30 days and 14 days for U.S. domestic transactions if you have a manual record of the card information.
Clear the transactions one business day after the authorization response date.
