The merchant processed other transactions without the knowledge of the cardholder.

Response

Cardholders and issuers have 120 days to file a dispute related to the claim against the merchant.
Merchants have 45 days to respond to the claim in dispute.

Steps to Prevention

  • Always explain to the customer the terms and conditions before processing a transaction
  • Don’t add tips or extra charges to a bill without cardholder knowledge and consent.
