Reason Code 4849: Global Merchant Audit Program (GMAP)

The merchant is listed on the Global Merchant Audit Program. To file under this reason code, the fraudulent transaction should have occurred in the period listed in the Global Security Bulletin.

The merchant is suspected of fraud and placed under stricter scrutiny.

Disputes filed by the cardholder or issuer can submitted within 120 calendar days after the publication of the Global Security Bulletin that first published the merchant’s location or 120 calendar days of the Central Site Business Date of the transaction.
