Reason Code 4849: Questionable Merchant Audit Program (QMAP)

The merchant is added to the Questionable Merchant Audit Program. To file under this reason code, the fraudulent transaction should have occurred in the period detailed in the Global Security Bulletin under the QMAP.

The merchant participated in inappropriate or fraudulent activity.

• Stick to Mastercard rules.
• Keep accurate records.
• Always check transactions against the Mastercard Global Security Bulletin before completing them.

Disputes filed by the cardholder or issuer can submitted within 120 calendar days after the publication of the Global Security Bulletin that first published the merchant’s location or 120 calendar days of the Central Site Business Date of the transaction.
