Cause

  • The transaction in question wasn't an installment.
  • The merchant processed an incorrect installment amount.
  • The merchant processed the transaction prematurely.

Response

Cardholders and issuers have 120 days to file a dispute related to the claim against the merchant.

Merchants have 45 days to respond to the claim in dispute.

Steps to Prevention

  • Countercheck the installment transaction amounts before processing.
  • Train the staff to be accurate.
