Claim

The cardholder claims that they didn't get cash from the ATM or it only dispensed part of the requested amount.

Cause

The ATM malfunctioned.

Response

Cardholders and issuers have 120 days to file a dispute related to the claim against the merchant.

Merchants have 45 days to respond to the claim in dispute.

Steps to Prevention

  • ATMs should be adjusted fast.
  • ATM reconciliation should be prompt.
  • Credits should be processed immediately after an issue is discovered.
