Processing Error

Claim

The merchant completed the transaction past the specified time limits.

Cause

  • The transaction wasn’t completed in adequate time.
  • The account wasn’t in good standing when processing.

Response

Cardholders and issuers have 120 days to file a dispute related to the claim against the merchant.

Merchants have 20 days to respond to the claim in dispute.

Steps to Prevention

Send the completed transaction on the day of the sale or within the agreed time limits.
