Cause

A cardholder used their card at an unattended terminal, but the transaction amount exceeded Mastercard’s set limits. Alternatively, the card used wasn’t valid at the time of the transaction.

Response

Cardholders and issuers have 90 days to file a dispute related to the claim against the merchant.

Merchants have 45 days to respond to the claim in dispute.
